“I am one of those people who believe that theater can actually change the world. My impulse has always been to create new work — whether as an actor, director or producer — that is deeply authentic. I am interested in those stories that have traditionally been absent from popular culture and, and throughout my career my lens has narrowed on plays that intentionally lift up women’s voices. In this way, I can be an activist, a catalyst for vital dialogues and thereby — hopefully — incite people to begin to address important social issues.”
